ROHP heave compensator

This Remote Operated Hoisted Platform (ROHP) was custom-built by Seatools for the Dutch North Sea Directorate, with the purpose of facilitating inspection, sampling and survey tasks in the North Sea, Waddenzee and approaches to Dutch ports. 

It is deployed using an umbilical winch and heave compensation cylinder. The highly accurate semi-active heave compensation system allows the ROHP to work very close to the bottom despite vessel motions– an essential feature when conducting visual inspections of the seabed in the North Sea’s murky waters.
